Since inception in 2007, Innovate Calgary's Company Creation program has incubated 10 opportunities, prepared 6 startup companies for investment and secured over $5.5 million in non-dilutive and investor financing for Innovate Calgary-managed companies. In addition Innovate Calgary spin-off companies have created new jobs in the Alberta technology sector.

Circle Cardiovascular Imaging Inc.
CIRCLE Cardiovascular Imaging Inc. (“CCI”) has developed software for the cardiac imaging industry, known as cmr42. cmr42 is a scientific based program that was developed by physicians for physicians. Its intuitive user interface and analysis tools have been specifically designed to facilitate efficient quantitative evaluation of patient cardiac MRI studies.
Innovate Calgary developed the business infrastructure necessary for the successful beta release of cmr42. The partnership with Innovate Calgary has added value to Circle’s business model through business development, capital development, strategic planning and management. With Innovate Calgary assistance, CCI is better able to compete at an international level.

Zephyr Sleep Technologies Inc.
Zephyr Sleep Technologies Inc. develops products designed to monitor and analyze sleep performance and treat certain sleep disorders using patented and proprietary technology. Zephyr is currently focused on developing the MATRx™, a technology to assist patients who suffer from sleep apnea. The MATRx™ is a patented diagnostic device that would be used by sleep physicians in conjunction with dentists to determine the effectiveness of an oral appliance in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Innovate Calgary provided management leadership, business development expertise and market analysis at an early stage to identify product and market strategy for a range of technologies in the sleep diagnosis and therapeutics area. As a result of its early incubation by Innovate Calgary, Zephyr was acquired by a company prepared to take Zephyr’s first product to market.
