About Innovate Calgary

In 2010, Calgary Technologies Inc. and University Technologies International executed a Joint Operating Agreement and are working together under the brand and banner of Innovate Calgary.

Innovate Calgary is a full service organization offering technology transfer and business incubator services to researchers, entrepreneurs and businesses within the advanced technology sector. We have more than 50 years combined experience supporting the technology community, and are dedicated to the growth of southern Alberta’s technology commercialization ecosystem:
  • More than 120 companies presented at financing forums raising over $10.5M in funds
  • Over 1,650 discoveries evaluated with more than 680 patents secured
  • Negotiated over 550 technology commercialization agreements in over 24 countries
  • generating over $25M for the innovator community
  • Developed or assisted in the creation of over 40 spin-off companies
  • Ranked 3rd among 38 Canadian Institutions in licensing revenue and number of Canadian patents issued (AUTM Survey 2010)
  • Providing over 1,000 tenants and corporate identity clients with services at the Alastair Ross Technology Centre

2012 CABI Incubator of the Year Award
 
The Alastair Ross Technology Centre (ARTC) and Innovate Calgary were named the 2012 Incubator of the Year by the Canadian Association of Business Incubation.  ARTC Manager, Dave MacKillop says it was a team effort to earn this honour.  “It is recognition of all that we do,” explained MacKillop.
