May 2 - Congratulations to the Calgary winners of the 2012 VenturePrize!
Congratulations to Parvus Therapeutics Inc. and Orpyx Medical Technologies of Calgary who were selected as winners in their respective categories at this year’s province-wide TEC VenturePrize business plan competition.
Winning the very first NanoVenturePrize Category was Parvus Therapeutics Inc., an Innovate Calgary spin-off company developing nanomedicines that hold the potential to cure autoimmune diseases such as type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel diseases.
Orpyx Medical Technologies, also winner of this year’s Student Technology Innovation Challenge (STIC), won VenturePrize’s Student Category. Orpyx is developing a pressure sensitive shoe insole specifically designed for diabetic patients who no longer have sensation in their feet.
